Difficult茅s dans la traduction du th茅芒tre politique arabe vers le fran莽ais : l鈥檈xemple du th茅芒tre de Saad Allah Wannous

Dans cette th猫se, nous avons 茅tudi茅 les difficult茅s - sans 锚tre exhaustif - que peut rencontrer le traducteur des textes du th茅芒tre politique de l鈥檃rabe vers le fran莽ais. Pour cela, nous avons pris pour exemple deux pi猫ces de th茅芒tre du dramaturge syrien Saad Allah Wannous Rituel pour une m茅tamorphose (賵丕賱鬲丨賵丕賱鬲 丕廿賱卮丕乇丕鬲 胤賯賵爻) et L鈥櫭﹍茅phant, 么 roi du temps ! ( 賲賱賰 賷丕 丕賱賮賷賱 丕賱夭賲丕賳). La premi猫re, traduite en 2013 par Rania Samara, nous a servi d鈥檕util d鈥檃nalyse, dans le but de mettre en lumi猫re les difficult茅s de l鈥檕p茅ration traduisante de l鈥檃rabe vers le fran莽ais en mati猫re de th茅芒tre. La deuxi猫me pi猫ce a 茅t茅 l鈥檕bjet de la partie pratique de notre travail dans la mesure o霉 nous l鈥檃vons traduite en fran莽ais et que nous avons justifi茅 nos choix traductifs dans un commentaire qui a suivi le texte traduit. Dans l鈥檃nalyse comme dans la traduction, nous avons adopt茅 l鈥檃pproche communicationnelle de la traduction comme approche traductive. Les principales id茅es de la Th茅orie du sens sont donc pr茅sent茅es dans une premi猫re partie. Outre l鈥檃pproche communicationnelle, qui a 茅t茅 indispensable 脿 ce travail, la vie de Saad Allah Wannous, les 茅tapes les plus importantes de son parcours et l鈥檌nfluence des exp茅riences th茅芒trales du monde arabe et d鈥檃illeurs sur son 茅criture ont 茅t茅 茅galement abord茅es en amont du travail de la traduction et d鈥檃nalyse.

In this thesis, we examine the difficulties the translator of Arabic political theatre texts faces during translation to French. Therefore we have taken two theatrical texts as examples by the Syrian playwright Saad Allah Wannous: Ritual for a Metamorphosis ( 丕廿賱卮丕乇丕鬲 胤賯賵爻 賵丕賱鬲丨賵丕賱鬲) and The Elephant, o King of Time! (丕賱夭賲丕賳 賲賱賰 賷丕 丕賱賮賷賱). The first theatrical text was translated in 2013 by Rania Samara. Her translation will serve as an analytical tool for this research by highlighting the difficulties encountered during the translation of the theatrical text from Arabic into French. The second piece will play an essential part in this research and portray and be the practical part of our work as we will attempt to translate it into French and then justify our transition methods in a commentary. In the translation as well as in the analytical part of this research, I will use the communicational approach. According to semantics, the main ideas of the 鈥楾heory of Meaning鈥� will be presented beforehand to clarify the subject. In addition to the presentation of the communicative approach, this work will also include research on the career of Saad Allah Wannous. We will therefore study the most important stages of his career and their impact on his theater.
